Dewayne Bloem - Director, Agri Businessman

Dewayne was born and raised on a grain and livestock farm southeast of Des Moines, Iowa. His entire career has been spent in the agricultural business.

Dewayne became General Manager of a full-service cooperative in northern Iowa at the age of 24. Dewayne’s next decade involved business development for AGP Grain Group. He was the lead person in the acquisitions of grain elevators and agronomy plants and the formation of joint ventures with Midwest elevators.  The feasibility studies for expansions, developed by Dewayne, ranged from $100,000 to $15,000,000.   He was also the coordinator of the grain group’s strategic planning and quarterly business reviews.

Since 2007, Dewayne has worked as an independent contractor assisting ag-related businesses in a variety of projects:

  • strategic long-range planning
  • merger studies
  • market analysis
  • centralization of trucking transportation
  • feasibility studies and development of business plan for major facilities, including greenfield train-loading elevators and mega fertilizer plants
